Kilnsey Park

Kilnsey is an ideal place to learn how to fly fish and is my preferred venue for beginners. Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, it comprises two small fishing lakes, each of about one acre, which are both well stocked from the on-site fish farm. Kilnsey Park gets its name from the spectacular Kilnsey Crag, which helps shelter the two lakes from the wind.

During a regular day at Kilnsey I will be able to teach all you need to know to go fly fishing including:

    • roll and overhead casts

    • shooting line and presentation

    • choosing the right tackle

    • reliable fishing knots

    • the trout's diet and artificial flies

    • how to play and land fish safely

A day at Kilnsey would also make a wonderful gift for one of your relatives or friends. Please contact me if you would like to order a gift certificate.
