River fishing

The varied waters encountered on Yorkshire spate rivers are best tackled by using a variety of techniques - learn how to read the water and some basic entymology, leading to an understanding of where fish are likely to be and the most effective methods for catching them in different situations. On a normal day we can expect to cover two or three of the following techniques:

  • North country spider fishing
  • Upstream nymphing
  • Czech nymphing
  • Dry fly
  • The duo and trio techniques (Klink and Dink)
  • French nymphing
