Grayling fishing
Once the trout season ends on the 30th September, the fly fisher’s attention turns to the beautiful ‘Lady of the Stream’, the grayling. Yorkshire has some of the best grayling water in the country and we can expect to catch fish all the way through the winter months. We will cover the most effective methods for catching these lovely fish on either the Wharfe or Nidd, depending on the prevailing conditions:
- Czech or French nymphing
- North country spider fishing
- Dry fly (yes, even in winter the grayling will take a dry fly!)
